The key to organising a successful New Zealand ski tour is in the planning. Early planning is essential to
ensure a seamless and enjoyable trip. As ski tours to New Zealand grow in popularity bookings are being made earlier

every season and it is therefore a good idea to start planning your trip at least 12 months in advance.
We are definitely able to make last minute bookings, but it can work out to be slightly more expensive with the flights.
Obtaining institutional approval for your trip is essential before you do anything else. You will no doubt require a
safety management policy which will form part of your presentation. KiwiSki can help you with all the
necessary risk assessments for resorts you plan on visiting.

Once you have permission, it is time to start planning. Luckily, KiwiSki has been organising trips for over ten years
and can offer you lots of great advice and support.

New Zealand has a deserved international reputation as a fine skiing destination. The season runs from
June to September and the landscape and environment are out of this world. In the South Island, the spectacular Southern Alps
run for five hundred kilometres, north to south, providing superb skiing and boarding. The majority of the commercial ski fields
are found around the resort town of Queenstown, sited majestically on the shores of Lake Wakatipu.

This is the easy part: just pick up the phone and call us and we will help you to make the right, hassle-free options
for your trip.  Together, we will create a unique trip of a lifetime just for your group with an all-inclusive quote ensuring
there are no hidden costs to alarm you.

Your KiwiSki consultant will make the planning and booking really simple. Once we have a clear understanding of
your requirements, we will make sure that nothing is left out.  Once you arrive in NZ, your consultant is
available 24/7 to assist you so you can sit back and relax knowing that everything is taken care of, from selecting the
perfect resort for your school, to making sure that everyone is dressed appropriately for a week of fun in the mountains.

KiwiSki are well respected snow experts throughout the NZ travel industry. We provide outstanding customer service
that is both friendly and professional and we pride ourselves on the excellence of the operators and providers with whom
we choose to work. You will receive a detailed itinerary so that there is no guess work involved, and everything
will be documented from the time you arrive to the time you leave.

Our school skiing trips provide students with the opportunity to learn a completely new sport, in a stunning, new environment
and in a different culture. Group tours encourage team building and help students develop new personal and social skills
and improve self-esteem. KiwiSki ensures that, by the end of your trip, your students will have had a fantastic time, learned

new skills and expanded their horizons. Parents will be extremely satisfied to have paid for an event that is not only both
affordable and competitively priced but one that has been an unforgettable, positive experience for their children.

KiwiSki bespoke tours are exactly that.  You can choose to include or exclude any
of the following depending upon the needs of your group. The less experienced you are as a trip organiser
the more we suggest you include. This gives you a much smaller margin for error and therefore more peace of mind.

With flights from Australia, we predominately use Air New Zealand, Jetstar, and Virgin as they have direct flights into Queenstown. There are other options such as Qantas, Emirates and we always check to see if they have specials available.

We find that it is sometimes better to fly with Air New Zealand as they have better terms and conditions with regards to the deposit, as it is refundable 150 days before departure. Jetstar’s deposit is non-refundable and expires 10 days after receiving the quote. This is often not a problem if the group is confirmed, but can be difficult to organize if you are in the planning stage, which is where Air NZ comes into its own.

Either way we work with you to find the best option and will provide you with two options so you can decide which you prefer, as Jetstar can sometimes be substantially cheaper than Air NZ.

If you are flying from Asia there are no direct flights into Queenstown unless you stop  off in Australia. Emirates and Singapore fly directly into Christchurch and we recommend Singapore as their arrival time works better with connecting flights to Queenstown.

.

We find that the best accommodation and most cost efficient is hostels. The quality of this type of accommodation has dramatically improved over the years and there are some excellent options like Pinewood and  Shotover Lodge that we use. There are of course other options depending on your requirements and budget and we have used  excellent 3.5 star hotels like the Mercure, which is excellent for large groups and the Novotel, which is in a brilliant location. Quite often the price is not much more than the Hostels, so if worth looking into if the teachers would like something a bit better. We do inspect all of our recommended accommodation so that we are satisfied that what you are getting meets our own high standards as well as your requirements.

All of our ski tours include ski passes and these are given to each student as the two fields in Queenstown and Mt Hutt in Canterbury all use the same card.  If we use ski fields in Wanaka, we simply provide each student with the pass on the day. Our rates for the passes are no more expensive than the advertised rate. Teachers ski free, and you will have a Kiwiski representative with you each day to assist with any issues that may arise

We cannot guarantee that the slopes will be open as there are sometimes unforeseen circumstances beyond our control such as blizzards or avalanche risks. However, if such an event does occur there will always be something else to keep your students occupied. Alternative sight–seeing trips, activities back at the accommodation, local swimming pool (heated), can be organised by the Kiwiski representative.

All of our ski tours include coach transfers. The use of a coach is provided throughout your group’s stay, allowing more flexibility and easy access to evening entertainment venues (subject to driver’s hours). We use reliable local coach tour operators for airport transfers, day excursions and any travel done between accommodation and the ski slopes. There is the option if your group is 12 to hire a rental van and we can assit with this as well.

We have also found that for large groups it is a good idea to hire a van as it comes in handy for a variety of differnet reasons  (trips up and down the mountain for equipment that students have forgotten is the most common)

We understand that meals are important so we make sure that all students will have access to a cooked or continental breakfast before heading off for a day on the slopes. Packed or cooked lunches, are optional  and a substantial, cooked evening meal are also provided in the quote. We have caterers that can provide dinner at the accommodation as well as a list of cheap restaurants that specilaise in groups. If you want to save money you can purchase items at the supermarket and cook yourself, which is an option at the hostels , but not the hotels. We have foudn that breakfast is easy enough as ceral ius a cheap option, but it is advisable to have a caterer cook dinner or eat out at a restaurant. If any students or staff have special dietary requirements, please inform us at the time of booking so that we can ensure that their needs are catered for. We even cater for Kosher.

Students will be supplied with everything necessary for each day’s skiing or snowboarding. This will include boots, helmets (compulsory) , goggles, snowboards and/or skis. Skis and snowboards will selected by a ski technician according to the height and needs of each student Please ensure that your students have a selection of warm clothing and boots for wearing off slope and for excursions. On the slopes, students will require a ski suit or separate ski jacket and salopettes which can also be hired if necessary. We always provide ski hire in our quotes as it is much easier this way as well as most of the flights only allow one piece of checked in luggage and you will be charge extra baggage rates for the skis which can be quite a bit. All of the ski gear is excellent quality and it is hired off the mountain so you don’t have to wait when you get to the mountain. Each student has it professionally fitted  the night of their arrival.

Your Kiwiski representative is able to assist you with any activities that students would like to do on their day off.  We are more than happy to pre-book the excursions requested, subject to availability. All of our tours are bespoke and we can include the attraction prices into the final tour price, at your request. The most common pre-booked excursion is Bungy jumping and the the most common spur of the moment booking is paraponting off the mountain at the end of the day. We can get the bus to pick them up.

We believe that peace of mind for all concerned, but particularly you, the party leader, will help make
your trip absolutely memorable. With our years of experience and expertise in planning and creating
bespoke skiing trips we can give you that peace of mind by helping you to plan your trip in minute detail.
We leave nothing to chance and pride ourselves on the personal service that we provide.

New Zealand is a very popular ski tourist destination so early planning and organisation are absolutely vital.
Bookings are being taken earlier each season, so as soon as you have decided to run a ski trip we advise
you to contact us. Discuss with us what your aims are for the trip and we will help you to achieve them.

There are just seven easy steps involved in booking your trip.

step1

As soon as you think you might like to organise a ski trip contact us to discuss your exact tour requirements. We will go over every aspect of your trip and make sure that we are in agreement as to what you want to do on your trip. We will then send an email with an overview of your trip. Please be sure to check this thoroughly and ensure it meets your exact needs.

step2

Our quotations are very detailed and will include travel costs and information, accommodation costs, equipment hire and the cost of any excursions that you have asked to be included. Everything is transparent and there are no hidden extras. We are happy that all aspects of your trip will have been covered when our quote is presented to your school’s decision makers.

Health & Safety and Risk Assessment information will also be included in our documentation. Should you need any further information we will be happy to supply it.

 step3

Once you are happy with the package that we have created and you have confirmed that you would like to book your tour with us, we will make a no-obligation provisional booking on your behalf. We will then advise as to any issues with availability or slight changes that might need to be made. We also require a deposit to secure the flights.

step4

It’s time to start advertising the trip to your staff and students and to promote the opportunity to parents and caregivers. Once you have a list of names it’s time to secure places and collect deposits.

step5

Send us your deposit by credit card or internet bank transfer. This must be accompanied by a completed electronic booking form.

step6

You will already have a KiwiSki consultant who will have guided you through all of your itinerary planning and who will have answered any of your queries. They will e-mail to you all of your travel documents and your tour vouchers along with the full itinerary that you have booked and contact details of any all accommodation that your party will be staying at.

step7

Off you go! We are confident that you and your students will have a fabulous trip and will take home with many wonderful memories. Should you need emergency assistance whilst away, we are available on-call 24-hours a day; however your rep in resort will always be available as your first port of call.

KiwiSki goes to great lengths to secure the best deals for all of our clients and we pass the savings we make directly on to you.
We negotiate wholesale rates on all our travel arrangements so that you get cheaper coach travel during your stay in New Zealand;
we are also able to negotiate discounted group travel rates with our national carrier, Air New Zealand. Before the new ski season
starts KiwiSki consults with the equipment hire companies at the resorts.  Because we are very  busy throughout the entire season
we are able to guarantee the required demand for equipment and thus negotiate reduced rates for our clients. Whilst our rates may
be discounted  we can assure you that the quality of service certainly isn’t.
You get the same high standard of service as
everyone else, they just have to pay more for it.

When you are supervising a school group you need extra hands and watchful eyes at all times and will require extra adults on your tour.
Chat to us about the number of adults you will need to accompany you and we will tell you how we can help some reduce their
costs with free accommodation.
